A Request for Assistance!

We are almost there, and so much of the work has been done! However, we are asking everyone to help us with one tiny thing: Is there any guest attending who has a video camera and would video the ceremony for us? It will be short, we promise! We would be so thankful if someone could record it and send it to us afterwords.

Many thanks!

For Jason

Kilts Wha Hae

After some reflection, and lots of goading from everyone from the father of the bride to the wedding photographer, Andrew has decided to wear a kilt and Argyle jacket for the wedding. The groomsmen and the father of the bride will also be kilted. So if you have one, please feel welcome to join in the fun!

In the mean time, ponder this, A Song for Kilts, by the poet Robert Service:

Wedding Hootenany

Lynelle's mom, Heather, has extended an invitation for all those who are financially strapped or simply love the great outdoors:

"Any of your friends or family are welcome to throw a tent up, out in the pasture!"

So if you are interested in creating a tent city in the field behind the house, let us know!

Dear Out of Town Guests.... Which is pretty much all of you

For our guests coming from out of town, hotel information! All of the hotels, by the way, are about 5 - 10 miles from the wedding location, in the middle of beautiful downtown Auburn.

Best Western Golden Key
13450 Lincoln Way, Auburn, CA
(530) 885-8611 ‎
Book by May 3 for the Miliate-Ha wedding and receive these special "wedding group" room rates: King - 89.99 per night, or Double Queen - 99.99, per night. Includes breakfast. (This hotel had the best rates in the area, btw.)

Comfort Inn Central
1875 Auburn Ravine Road, Auburn, CA
(530) 885-1800 ‎
Book by May 4 for the Miliate-Ha wedding. 89.99, single or double. Includes a free breakfast.

We haven't reserved rooms at these hotels, but they are also in the area, just in case:

Foothills Motel - a "Charming little
motel in the foothills, built in the 1940's." Their words. It does look cute though.
13431 Bowman Road, Auburn, CA 95603-3199
(530) 885-8444 ‎
Rooms from 68 to 75

Motel 6 - Auburn

Let us know if you have any questions or concerns!

Wedding Update! Location

We are so excited to announce that our wedding now has a confirmed location! Actually, Lynelle's mother, stepfather and grandmother have generously offered to host the ceremony and reception at Jolie Vue, the Waterbury family home. The house is a lovely little farmhouse in the foothills of the Nevadas, just outside of Sacramento, California. Surrounded by fruit trees, pine forest and wild blackberry brambles, the property is an idyllic retreat for us, away from the bustle and noise of Los Angeles. Lynelle's parents keep chickens, ducks, geese, hounds and horses; additionally, we are often visited by deer, coyotes, bobcats, hawks, and on rare occasions, a beautiful white kite.

We do realize that the distance of the property from LA will make it hard for all of our guests to attend. We are currently researching economical and comfortable hotels in the Newcastle/auburn area for out of town guests. The house is about a 30 min drive from the Sacramento airport, and is a 7 hour drive from LA, taking the I-5 most of the way. And for those who simply can't make the distance, we understand that your hearts are always with us on our special day.

More info to follow!

Greetings Family and Friends

Welcome to our wedding blog! We opted for a blog instead of the standard wedding website because we wanted something more personal, more "us." And after we are married (finally) and all of this crazy wedding planning is finished, we can still use a blog to share our crazy/wonderful adventures with the people we love.
