Like a walk around Lake Balboa and breakfast with Uncle Rene, and dinner with a dear friend and her baby! And we spent a few hours in between stalking finds for our etsy shop at a bunch of Goodwills and thrift shops. Among my treasures found were a stack of kids books in very good shape, which I had to snatch right up - filling up a bookshelf for Finn has been one of my passions since we were barely even pregnant! For a baby who can't even read yet, he has a lovely selection of books in a variety of reading levels. Because of my passion for fairy tales, he has compendiums of stories from almost every continent. Plus copies of adventurous tales like Treasure Island and of course, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.

It was a pleasure to add The Secret Garden - one of my very favorite books as a child - to his shelf, and Racso and the Rats of NIMH, which I have not read but am EXTREMELY eager to do so! And of course, the Star Wars book was Andrew's choice ;)
But now that Finn has arrived, we think this may the best way to keep all the family members and friends in the know about Finn and our adventures as a family, without going all "STFU Parents" on our Facebooks. Keep watching this space for updates, and until then, here's a picture of what we made!
However, we are asking everyone to help us with one tiny thing: Is there any guest attending who has a video camera and would video the ceremony for us? It will be short, we promise! We would be so thankful if someone could record it and send it to us afterwords.

Many thanks!Lynellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15763394872946117276noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4388763084359058305.post-82480949884256558682011-04-28T12:44:00.000-07:002011-04-28T12:47:54.521-07:00For Jason<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaq2uo08g0Evsa-36EvF0MWF7oQZ76zBl-7OlaMku1OzxpfmvmQq5hnx-Iznw4kjeb50-HLShDjYUZXhv2feT7GlHLDn1gTmFiwslLVTwBD9CFW_I3QpJ_Xz2m1NmzYyClMGZ8ZJi0H7Ft/s320/IMG_1455.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5600723540394214162" />Lynellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15763394872946117276noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4388763084359058305.post-36632885572578981662011-04-28T10:16:00.000-07:002011-04-28T10:25:21.190-07:00Kilts Wha HaeAfter some reflection, and lots of goading from everyone from the father of the bride to the wedding photographer, Andrew has decided to wear a kilt and Argyle jacket for the wedding. The groomsmen and the father of the bride will also be kilted. So if you have one, please feel welcome to join in the fun!

In the mean time, ponder this, A Song for Kilts, by the poet Robert Service:
http://www.dictionary-quotes.com/poem-of-the-day-a-song-for-kilts-by-robert-service/Lynellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15763394872946117276noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4388763084359058305.post-49621061388832188032011-04-24T14:25:00.001-07:002011-04-24T14:25:33.953-07:00Andrew P Ha, I'm crazy in love with you.Lynellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15763394872946117276noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4388763084359058305.post-54159004530183726852011-03-18T10:54:00.000-07:002011-03-18T11:00:13.418-07:00Wedding HootenanyLynelle's mom, Heather, has extended an invitation for all those who are financially strapped or simply love the great outdoors:

"Any of your friends or family are welcome to throw a tent up, out in the pasture!"

So if you are interested in creating a tent city in the field behind the house, let us know!Lynellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15763394872946117276noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4388763084359058305.post-21385843973446368192011-03-11T09:57:00.000-08:002011-03-11T10:14:41.780-08:00Dear Out of Town Guests.... LocationWe are so excited to announce that our wedding now has a confirmed location! Actually, Lynelle's mother, stepfather and grandmother have generously offered to host the ceremony and reception at Jolie Vue, the Waterbury family home. The house is a lovely little farmhouse in the foothills of the Nevadas, just outside of Sacramento, California. Surrounded by fruit trees, pine forest and wild blackberry brambles, the property is an idyllic retreat for us, away from the bustle and noise of Los Angeles. Lynelle's parents keep chickens, ducks, geese, hounds and horses; additionally, we are often visited by deer, coyotes, bobcats, hawks, and on rare occasions, a beautiful white kite.

We do realize that the distance of the property from LA will make it hard for all of our guests to attend. We are currently researching economical and comfortable hotels in the Newcastle/auburn area for out of town guests. The house is about a 30 min drive from the Sacramento airport, and is a 7 hour drive from LA, taking the I-5 most of the way. And for those who simply can't make the distance, we understand that your hearts are always with us on our special day.

More info to follow!Lynellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15763394872946117276noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4388763084359058305.post-73054430446416467042011-01-04T21:09:00.000-08:002011-01-04T21:13:16.962-08:00Greetings Family and FriendsWelcome to our wedding blog! We opted for a blog instead of the standard wedding website because we wanted something more personal, more "us." And after we are married (finally) and all of this crazy wedding planning is finished, we can still use a blog to share our crazy/wonderful adventures with the people we love.Lynellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15763394872946117276noreply@blogger.com0
