We had a family day yesterday, and while part of it was spent at Finn's monthly check up, we crammed in lots of other good stuff, too. Like a walk around Lake Balboa and breakfast with Uncle Rene, and dinner with a dear friend and her baby! And we spent a few hours in between stalking finds for our etsy shop at a bunch of Goodwills and thrift shops. Among my treasures found were a stack of kids books in very good shape, which I had to snatch right up - filling up a bookshelf for Finn has been one of my passions since we were barely even pregnant! For a baby who can't even read yet, he has a lovely selection of books in a variety of reading levels. Because of my passion for fairy tales, he has compendiums of stories from almost every continent. Plus copies of adventurous tales like Treasure Island and of course, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
It was a pleasure to add The Secret Garden - one of my very favorite books as a child - to his shelf, and Racso and the Rats of NIMH, which I have not read but am EXTREMELY eager to do so! And of course, the Star Wars book was Andrew's choice ;)
let's have an adventure!

Presented, For Your Consideration
So we haven't really blogged much, mostly bemuse we are the kind of people who would rather be livin' life than writing about it. But now that Finn has arrived, we think this may the best way to keep all the family members and friends in the know about Finn and our adventures as a family, without going all "STFU Parents" on our Facebooks. Keep watching this space for updates, and until then, here's a picture of what we made!

A Request for Assistance!
We are almost there, and so much of the work has been done! However, we are asking everyone to help us with one tiny thing: Is there any guest attending who has a video camera and would video the ceremony for us? It will be short, we promise! We would be so thankful if someone could record it and send it to us afterwords.
Many thanks!
Many thanks!

Kilts Wha Hae
After some reflection, and lots of goading from everyone from the father of the bride to the wedding photographer, Andrew has decided to wear a kilt and Argyle jacket for the wedding. The groomsmen and the father of the bride will also be kilted. So if you have one, please feel welcome to join in the fun!
In the mean time, ponder this, A Song for Kilts, by the poet Robert Service:

Wedding Hootenany
Lynelle's mom, Heather, has extended an invitation for all those who are financially strapped or simply love the great outdoors:
"Any of your friends or family are welcome to throw a tent up, out in the pasture!"
So if you are interested in creating a tent city in the field behind the house, let us know!
